The 34-year-old South African golfer, who won the Joburg Open the previous week, was able to get the win a week later in Johannesburg. Starting the final round two shots off the lead, Burmester navigated the challenging conditions with a composed performance, carding a final round 68. His round marked with crucial birdies on the final three holes, propelled him to a three-stroke victory with a total score of 277. The DP World Tour was also still in Australia for the Australian Open. Joaquin Niemann, the Chilean golfer who's been making waves since joining LIV Golf last year, claimed the win.
In a nail-biting playoff against Japan's Rikuya Hoshino, Niemann showed his class by making an eagle on the second playoff hole. This win at the Australian Golf Club in Sydney wasn't just any win – it marked his first title on the DP World Tour, adding to his already impressive resume with two PGA Tour wins. This week the tour stays in South Africa for the Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek Country Club.
